Then Again

He, thankfully, was bounced from office but he still makes news, Seems the Trumpster has charged those who protect him, the Secret Service, some $50,000 just since he left the Oval Office for stays at his properties.  Word has it that he sent a $10,000 tab for lodging at his Bedminster resort just in May. Yup, some things and some people never change.

Don’t hear much about the “Forest Fire Danger” lately. Might have something to do with the excessive sky water we’ve been getting in 2021. Pardon me while I scrape the mold off my side.
Yikes, network TV fare had reached new lows. When reduced to watching “Family Feud” we’ve got to realize that the flat screen has tumbled far beyond our imagination.

America’s Got Talent’s panel doesn’t always get it right as evidenced by last week’s show during which Simon Cowell promised they would do something they’d never done before. Turned out to be all the panelists giving the golden buzzer to a nine year old who sang classical music.  Did they happen to notice that she was off key on some of the notes?  Certainly she does not rank above all the other talent that has appeared on AGT over the years and merits a free trip to the future live final performances. Yup, the show does feature some outstanding talent but often doesn’t select the best as winners.

Simone Biles’ removing herself from the U.S. team Olympic
competition was a shocker. We can’t possibly know the pressures she must feel being tabbed “”the greatest gymnast of all time”. We can only hope she does what’s best for her and her future.

May the Washington hearings investigating the horrendous Trump sanctioned riot of our Capitol January 6th will produce positive results. Any and all responsible for that unforgiveable event should be held accountable and justly punished.

A major tv net carrying “Family Feud” on a daily basis is all we have to know regarding the desperate lack of TV quality these days.

Ah So!

Republicans have voted Rep. Elise Stefanik into House leadership, electing the ardent Trump defender and replacing deposed Rep. Liz Cheney’s opposition to the former White House resident. Stefanik, R-N.Y., a moderate turned Trump loyalist has given voice backing his false claims about election fraud. I’m constantly amazed how anyone can support the orange faced one. Perhaps it’s their belief that his “influence” can further their own careers.

“Our Country is broken, our elections are rigged, corrupt, and stolen, our prosecutors are politicized”.  A recent but so familiar quote from Trump. Yep, some things never change.

National Review senior writer Charles C.W. Cooke writes that Trump now believes that he will be returned to office this summer and also that two Democratic members of Congress will be replaced by the GOP personnel they previously defeated. Apparently, continued golfing under a steamy Mar a Lago sun must tend to promote delusion.

What show business legend began his show business career as a member of the Will Mastin

rio?  Answer at the end of this “masterpiece”.

Another unreasoning voice being heard once again.  Rudy Giuliani has endorsed My Pillow saying “I’ve been sleeping on My Pillows for some time,” Giuliani said on his “Common Sense” show, “I love them. Simply the very best pillows ever made”. No surprise as the pillow’s creator Mike Lindell has predicted that the Trump-ster will return to the White House by August. Yep, loons of a feather stick together.

Just when we need it tv turns its back. What passes for “prime time” programming is far from it featuring such pap as “Family Feud” on a daily basis. Hopefully, we can locate a few good books.

Senate leader Mitch McConnell states that any Biden nominee for the Supreme Court will be vetoed by his nibs, a life-long sponge of the electorate’s tax dollars.

Another Trump that defies logic, daughter in law Lara states that residents of the U.S. southern border “better arm up, get guns and be ready, maybe they’re going have to start taking matters into their own hands.”.

Now to conclude on a positive note, the answer to the previous question regarding the person who began his show biz career as a member of The Will Mastin Trio, it was the great Sammy Davis Jr. who performed with his father Sammy sr. and Uncle Will Mastin.

Yeah?

Ho

Ted Cruz, who unfortunately is a .U.S. Senator, has babbled another mistruth. He angrily answered a reporter regarding his not wearing a face mask by saying all Congressional members have been immunized. False.  Some have chosen not to be. This was just another quote which comes directly from a Cruz orifice..... not the one with teeth.

Ted Cruz is blabbering again, ,this time claiming he will not wear a mask in the Capitol or on the Senate floor.  He says all who inhabit those locales have been vaccinated. Not true .What a surprise...

Former Republican House Speaker John Boenher is saying that Trump is directly responsible for the Capitol riot of January 6th which left five people dead and more than 140 Capitol Police officers injured. Boehner says that Trump “incited that bloody insurrection for nothing more than selfish reasons, perpetuated by the crap he’d been shoveling since he lost a fair election the previous November.” The Ohio Republican, also suggests that Trump was an actual terrorist. “The legislative terrorism that I’d witnessed as speaker had now encouraged actual terrorism,” Boehner writes in the book, which is entitled “On the House: A Washington Memoir” and is due out later this month. In his book, Boehner rips Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) as “a reckless ***hole who thinks he is smarter than everyone else” and Fox News host Sean Hannity as a “nut.”

Rudy Giuliani’s first interview since his New York apartment was raided by the FBI was heard on Fox. Big surprise. Tucker Carlson was the cheer leading interviewer. Ho hum Meantime, Giuliani’s son Andrew reverted to attacking Hunter Biden when interviewed about the raid on dear old Dad. Like father like offspring...a generous sense of non sense.

Upon learning his Facebook han had been extended for another six months, Trump spouted “Total disgrace and an embarrassment to our country The Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before”. Real truth wouldn’t be recognized by the Master Of Maralago if it slapped him in his orange face.

Ah Ha!

Oops, time for another put down of what is referred to as “The Big Dance”, the CBS coverage of the NCAA Basketball ho hum.  Certainly it must be a huge profits maker for the web and a delight for “the bracket beasts”. The rest of us will meantime retreat to our VCR’s or a good book until this juvenile past time has faded....

Seems Betsy DeVos, who is worth more than $2 billion, reported outside earnings from dividends, interest and rents of at least $225 million and “potentially well over $414 million” while being a Trump cabinet member. She joins a growing list of those who should be serving our country while rather serving themselves.

Donald Trump has falsely claimed his supporters involved in the Jan. 6th insurrection posed “zero threat” and involved people “hugging and kissing the police.” As we recall, one police officer was killed with at least 140 people seriously injured. Trump continues to earn the labels of ”liar” and “disillusioner”

Good news: Dave Roberts, former Red Sox player, considered one of the nicest guys in major league baseball, is remembered mostly for stealing second base against the Yankees in game four of the ACLS.  Dave is now cancer free after treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Yes, nice guys can finish first.

Word has it that Sharon Osborne has walked from “The Talk”. Seems she had defended the doubtful Piers Morgan concerning his criticism of Meghan Markel. I doubt our home screens will go dark for the loss of either one.

Boston’s Museum Of Science is about to honor one its native sons. It’s raising funds to erect a statue of Leonard Nimoy’s sculpture shaped like Mr. Spock’s split-fingered “live long and prosper” hand gesture,

Former cop Derelk Chauvin goes on trial this week facing second and third-degree murder charges, as well as manslaughter, after being captured on video kneeling on George. Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes.  Hard to imagine he’ll escape a lengthy jail sentence but odd, unjust results have emerged in past similar cases involving law enforcement members.

Over the weekend Trump grabbed the mic at a couple’s Mar a Lago wedding reception to bash President Biden. He was heard to say, “Enough about the couple let’s talk about me”. That he did, of course, including the same old dance about election votes, fraud, etc.. Tedious, yes, but at least spilling from his own property and not the Oval Office where he never belonged.
