House of Reps has voted to award the U.S. Capitol Police with Congressional Gold Medals following the Jan. 6 riot in Washington.The vote was nearly unanimous, with every Democrat and 194 Republicans voting to award the medals. Twelve House Republicans, however, voted no, the overwhelmingly majority of which was from the South. These ying yangs remain loyal to the former Oval Office occupant who encouraged that horrendous event. Their constituents should remember that when these bozos’ re-election time arrives.

Wanna’ attend opening day at Fenway this season?  Plan to choke as you cough up $303 for a bleacher seat to $431 grandstand and a whopping $1067 to slide your cheeks into a box seat...absurd!  Mucho cheaper, more comfy in your recliner and a lot closer to the bathroom.

Seems a wax Trump figure in a San Antonio museum had to be removed.  Too many scars and bruises where patrons had punched it.

Referencing the recent Biden stumble on Air Force One, seems he tweeted an edited video of dear old Dad repeatedly striking golf balls that hit President Biden on the back of the head, causing him to stumble. Has this yo yo nothing better to do? Twitter should deny his membership as well.

Never until recently have we been daytime TV watchers. Only during the forced stay home time have we tuned in to discover where all the “ambulance chasers” commercials live.

Partying spring break crowds were again forced out of Miami Beach’s streets this past weekend after the city declared a state of emergency fearing a spike in COVID-19 cases. The Mayor and city officials were foolish to open up “The Beach” to crowds of boozing revelers in the first place.

Here’s 21 reasons for my missing the Grammys this year:  performances from Bad Bunny, Black Pumas, Cardi B, BTS, Brandi Carlile, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Mickey Guyton, Haim, Brittany Howard, Miranda Lambert, Lil Baby, Dua Lipa, Chris Martin , Megan Thee Stallion, Maren Morris, Post Malone, Roddy Ricch, Harry Styles. Who the hell are these people? Maybe I'm just showing my age.

Trump’s first return to New York City since his election loss was met with a genuine lack of enthusiasm. Seems only one person was seen at Trump Tower. Of course, the orange faced one is never totally alone. He’s always accompanied by his inflated ego..

All the news isn’t negative. Piers Morgan has walked away from the show Good Morning Britain. This followed the negative controversial remarks he had made regarding Meghan Markle.  He had uttered the downer comments about her revelation during the Oprah interview regarding suicidal thoughts she had once had. Similar to a bad penny he’ll probably turn up again on some airwaves somewhere.

Now if Twitter would just pull Don Jr’s account there would be two less non-relevants with which we’re saddled. Perhaps a tv outlet labeled “Never Watch TV” would be a fit location from which these two ying yangs could bore the world.

Texas Governor Greg Abbot clicked on the green light and now several Texas groups are holding mask burning parties and mask off gatherings. Apparently, several Texans feel the danger has passed and it’s time to renew life the way life was before the pandemic. A reminder of the song “Fools Rush In”.

A third degree murder charge has been added to the charges against former cop Davis Chauvin in the death of George Floyd. Chauvin you’ll recall pressed his knee against Floy’s neck for  nine minutes which was the eventual cause of Floyd’s demise. Whether racial predjudice or another reason, Chauvin should spend lengthy time in the can.

Another poor excuse for a human being Thomas Sibick was arrested Friday in Buffalo, New York. Sibick faces five charges, including obstruction of law enforcement during the civil disorder of January 6^t,,, assaulting or impeding officers, and taking a thing of value by force or intimidation. This disgraceful toad stole a capitol police officer’s badge and buried it in his backyard.

Word on yet another “solid citizen”: A $14,500 fine could be levied against a Jet Blue passenger for refusing to wear a face mask and drinking alcohol he had brought on board which is prohibited by federal regulations. He also needs to be barred from any future commercial flights.

He wore a “Florida for Trump” hat with red and white stripes across the body and stars down the sleeves, waving a fire extinguisher while charging the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. He then sprayed officers at close range before throwing the emptied canister at them. He loudly and proudly identified himself as Robert Palmer from Clearwater, Florida. This conscience void   and disgraceful clown is unfortunately still at large. He deserves an accommodation with bars on the door.

 How ‘bout this::word has it that the FBI has found, through the phone records associated with the Capitol Riot, that a person linked with the Trump White House was in contact with a member of the right-wing extremist group, the Proud Boys, just before  the attempted insurrection, 

I see where the newly named chief of baseball operations Chaim Bloom has completed the destruction of the Major League’s best outfield. Mookie Betts was traded to the Dodgers last year, Andrew Benintendi was shipped to Kansas City this season and now Jackie Bradley has been severed. Congrats!!  As for myself, the result is a ton of declining Red Sox interest. 

The CBS budget took a large hit when the web had to pay $7 to $9 million for Oprah’s interview with Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. CBS reportedly couphed up those huge bucks for the rights to air Oprah Winfrey’s gab fest with the Royal Couple..

He no longer hosts a tv show here as he once did replacing Larry King, Thankfully he now “graces” screens across the pond. Seems Piers Morgan appears on the daily “Good Morning Britain” opus and fills the tube with his usual bile. He labeled the Oprah, Harry, Meghan interview “a slur on the royal family. When he filled in for  King here he was a waste of time. He continues to prove to be the same in not so jolly old England.

It remains difficult not to be hit with some “Trump News” almost daily. Now we have the revealing of the “Trump Coin” which boasts “Trump for President in 2024”. What a bargain at just $19.99!!  I’ll betcha all those MAGA hat hearers will be lining up to grab theirs.

Putting Me On?

The times they are a-changin”....and so is Hasbro’s Mister Potato Head. Sometime this year we’ll see the popular spud renamed “Potato Head”. As the company explained, “Kids want to be able to represent their own experiences. The way the brand currently exists is limiting when it comes to both gender identity and family structure”.

Career ended? Tiger Woods doesn’t think so. Despite his harrowing car crash don’t count him out.  His comeback record is outstanding and despite the leg injuries and surgeries he very well could be seen on the nation’s greens again. Stay tuned.

Trump made his first public appearance since his loss at the polls at the Conservative Political Action Committee soiree this past weekend.  Same old, same old...orange face, red tie, phony hairdo, tasteless put downs ...yawn.

Speaking of dreary performances, I dared catch a portion of the Golden Globes this past weekend.  Midst yawns was a self- back slapping series of performances by so called celebs which made reruns of “Leave It to Beaver” great television.  

From the “don’t know what to believe anymore” department: The company that publishes Dr. Seuss’ children’s books said it will stop selling six of his titles because they contain racist, .crass images and portray some people as “hurtful and wrong.”

One intrepid viewer tallied some 85 mentions on Fox News before 4 PM concerning the Suess book banning. A pair of the mouth flapping evening show hosts devoted generous portions of their air time to the topic. Hmmm...slow news day or did they opt to cover that story in lieu of the positive road President Biden walks?

Apparently Trump’s bragging of being a billionaire is now being replaced with his pleading for small money campaign contributions. Yup, seems  as though the times are a=changin’ even though his first speech.since losing the election smacked of the same old rhetoric and insults...Ho hum.

How the mighty have fallen...or, at least, are staggering. Former Red Sox and Yankee star Johnny Damon was jailed for driving while his blood alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit. It’s a wonder wifely Michele didn’t join him in there after shoving a cop.

Greg Kelly, has previously promoted his conspiracy theories about  Donald Trump’s election loss.  Kelly recently showed a photograph of the 12-year-old Biden dog Champ lying in what appears to be the Oval Office. “That dog needs a bath and a comb and all kinds of love and care”. Kelly needs to find a hobby.

Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference, which begins next week, marking his first major public appearance since he was tossed from the White House. Guess I’ll miss it as well as former Veep Pence. Seems I .have a previous commitment...a nap.

Word has it that Justice Department investigators are probing the possible influence of high-profile, extreme right-wing figures like longtime Donald Trump confidant Roger Stone. There is information suggesting that, in the days before the Capitol attack, Stone was associating with men who stormed the building..

Well, how ‘bout this: The Supreme Court has ruled that the N.Y. Prosecutor can now grab Donald Trump’s tax returns and various financial records as part of a criminal investigation. He has been fighting same for some time as we know. The score in the matter which now pleases many is: U.S. Supreme Court 1- Trump 0.

Got to wonder how the CEO of My Pillow is sleeping these nights after being tagged with a $1.3 Billion law suit by Dominion Voting Systems. Lindell an avid Trump supporter, claimed in a "viral disinformation campaign" that Trump won spreading false info regarding the recent Presidential election which he claimed was rigged.
