So!

Donald Trump refers to himself as “The Wartime President” while we recall he avoided military service by claiming “bone spurs”. Now he’s labeled himself as “the Lone Warrior”. Among the differences between the Oval Officer and the Lone Ranger is that the Ranger wore a mask.
Certainly the uptick in Covid 19 in many parts of the nation is due to human stupidity. The too early opening of bars, restaurants, beaches, etc. is mainly responsible along with those who are too anxious to resume their here to fore “usual lives”. The initial call for re-openings came from the White House followed by state leaders who joined the parade of door openers perpetuating a new explosion of the virus.
Seems that book written by a Donald niece can be released after having been previously put on hold. The family attempted to block publication of Mary Trump’s “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man”. Assured of much attention and big sales this “tell all” will be on store bookshelves within the next couple of weeks.
Didja’ note that the red tied one unloaded a July 4th rant at Mt. Rushmore to a mostly mask less, lack of social distancing crowd? Seems he made references to the “cancel culture” and “far left fascism”. It’s a wonder that the carved Presidential images there weren’t seen with frowns.
Thus far the following quotes take the prize as dumbest of the week: Trump’s “The coronavrirus will disappear” and from White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany “Donald Trump is the most informed person”.
We’ve lost a great one with the passing of Hugh Downs at 99. Remembered for his work on the “Today”, “Tonight” ,”Concentration” and “20/20” shows he once held the record for most hours in front of a tv camera. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and interviewing him some years ago. If one word could sum up Hugh Downs it would be “class”.
